A little about placing orders and payment

Stock Items:
We endeavor to hold most items ex stock, and will always check and reconfirm availability prior to charging your card or accepting payment.

Items on backorder will only ever be charged when the article is actually in stock.

Installation work:

We will quote firmly where possible but on occasion, we will reserve the right to provide estimates only, as complex installation work may require unforeseen added tasks such as milling of chassis parts or extensive additional labour for repainting or fabrication of special parts, especially when custom, brass or scales other tan HO/OO are worked on.

This is normally only charged on completion, however if a job is particularly complex, uses a large amount of inventory to complete or contains many locomotives which you have asked to be returned simultaneously on completion of all, we may elect to ask for progress payments or similar (This will always be after consultation and only by prior arrangement).

Rejection of some installation requests:

Sometimes we will receive locomotives, either directly or through the post, which are in terrible condition, or which seem to be inappropriate for the tasks requested and look like they will take an excessive amount of time (and therefore cost) to allow performance of the quality we require on all locomotives that we service or install.

Whilst it is rare for this to happen, and we will always contact the owner to discuss these locomotives... in very rare cases, we may decide to reject them as unsuitable for us to work on.

Special order items:
We will reconfirm availability and may request a pre-order deposit of between 25% and 50% for special orders or items sourced under our "Special Sourcing Service".

Special orders of unique items will be invoiced at the quoted price and will have shipping charged under our normal policy.

“Out of stock” or Backorders:
When we are out of stock of a listed item it is OUR responsibility, so you will never be charged post costs twice!

We will always ship items not in stock at the time of original order or part order/backorders free of charge.

Placing an Order:

We will soon introduce secure online trading…

However in the meantime you may place orders by any of the following methods which have served us well, with absolutely ZERO security problems for ourselves or our clients

Payment Methods:

While we have not yet established a secure shopping cart, we are working on it and it will be online as soon as we are totally happy with it.

In the meantime, we know that it is important to make it easy for you, so we’ve done our best to make sure that no matter how you prefer to pay, we can help.

Internationally, We accept the following:

Credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, JCB (if concerned re security, spread credit card info over two or three emails). If preferred we can call you for card details—just send a number and a convenient time window for you.

We need the following information from your card. We ONLY ship to Card billing address. If in doubt, please ask first.
• Name on card
• Card Number
• Expiry Date
• Security number. (On card reverse, last 3 numbers RHS)

Money Order:

Western Union or PO Money Orders ($AU, $USD or GB£ only)

Concealed cash:

In $AU, $US, GB£, (Its your choice and always sent at owners risk. If you send concealed cash then ONLY by registered post please!)

Within Australia:

Credit cards: VISA, MasterCard

Online Payment: We accept PayPal with NO surcharges

Money Order: Australia Post or nationally recognised bank.

Direct deposit: Please email for banking details.

All credit card customers please note:

If you wish, we will record and keep your details on file within our secure processing system.

This will allow repeat orders to be placed simply by email, and prevent the need to re-transmit sensitive information.
