More will be coming soon……

But here are a few images to be going on with…

I hope you like them!

Turbomotive in 4mm scale… the front end of the original Turbomotive kit has been cut off and totally rebuilt from scratch… to look exactly as it should, with all piping and parts correctly fabricated for the cooling radiator as per the prototype (the flap was open when running to cool the turbine lubricant)

And is this perhaps the best loco kit ever in 4mm scale? The Brassmasters Scot, in the process of being cross-kitted with a Brassmasters Jubilee Cab to create my version of LMS 6170 “British Legion”

The high quality of parts in these kits makes them a joy to build

...Which is a good thing as there are 20+ bits of brass and nickel silver soldered onto this front footplate!

Despite the kit quality I was not totally happy with the smoke-box front, so I totally removed all detail from the casting and scratch-built replacements.

both the hinges and the smoke-box front catch actually work now! The lamps were built from whitemetal castings and have been drilled out and fitted with DCCconcepts 0603 Surface mount LEDs. The lens surround is formed from fine copper wire.

The Tender builds as well as the loco - but be prepared for some really trying linkages… like full fork jointed brackets on both the water scoop and the economiser bracket too.

This is perhaps the nicest LMS tender kit ever, and is highly recommended as a way to greatly improve many RTR locos (Once you have added the Brassmasters detail kit to the locomotive of course!).

The New Hornby Scot and Patriots are prime candidates for the full “Brassmasters treatment” and although they are not bad models , they really do look MUCH, much better after its been applied!

I enjoy making buildings too…

This is “The Blacksmiths at Craven Lime Company”

Totally scratch-built from card, DAS modelling clay and wood veneer has been used for everything from the doors to the roof tiles….

And one of its companion buildings…

“The Stables at Craven Lime Company”

...also scratch-built.

Both buildings feature a fully scratch-built interior with accurate internal roof structure etc.

More later….. I hope you enjoyed this small sample, as we will be adding many more from a variety of fine modellers very, very soon!
